What is an InBody Scale?
The InBody 570 is a non-invasive, state-of-the-art medical grade device that measures the different components of your body mass including your lean muscle mass, body fat percentage, visceral fat level, and your intracellular and extracellular water content. These results can give you a more complete picture of the inner workings of your body.
How does it work?
The InBody 570 uses bioelectric impedance analysis by sending safe, low-level electrical currents through your body via hand and foot electrodes. The machine measures impedance of the current as it travels through body and from there your body composition is derived. This type of measurement is very quick and highly accurate, taking only 45 seconds to complete a full body analysis with 98% accuracy. No estimations, no pinching, no dunking, no discomfort.

How to prepare
For the most accurate results we recommend following these preparation guidelines.
- Do not eat for 3-4 hours before testing
- Do not exercise for 6-12 hours before testing
- Ensure access to both feet with removable footwear and socks
- Do not drink caffeine on the day of your test and be well hydrated
- Do not shower or sauna immediately prior to test
- Avoid putting lotion on hands and feet before testing
- Individuals with pacemakers or other electronic devices should not use the InBody
- For women, avoid testing if you are pregnant or menstruating

How long does it take to perform a test?
The InBody performs a full body analysis in 45 seconds. Consultations are 30 minutes.
Are there any weight, height or age restrictions for the InBody test?
Weight range: 22 – 551 pounds
Height range: 3 feet 1.4 inches – 7 feet 2.6 inches
Age range: 3 – 99 years
How often can I measure my body composition?
We recommend testing every 4-6 weeks. This allows for significant changes to be detected.
Will I feel the electrical currents during the test?
For the average population the electrical currents sent through the body during the test are too low to feel. However, there is a small possibility that individuals with tactile sensitivity may feel a slight sensation.
How does an InBody device compare to other body composition analysis devices?
The InBody gives you results based completely on your body at that exact moment in time. The use of multiple frequencies accurately measures intracellular and extracellular water providing a direct and reproducible result. It does not rely on statistical or pre-calculated results as other methods do. You receive results as unique as you.
